Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 2026 · Voxcount B.V. (in formation), Amsterdam, the Netherlands
In short
- Voxcount is a daily opinion app. You answer a few questions, see where you stand, earn points, and redeem them for vouchers or charity donations — never cash.
- One account per person. Answer honestly. Fraud (fake accounts, bots, junk answers) means we can suspend you and remove wrongly-earned points — but we’ll tell you.
- Points aren’t money and have no cash value. There’s a minimum before you can redeem, and rewards are delivered by third-party providers.
- Your answers power anonymised, aggregated insight we license to organisations — never your individual answers.
- You can close your account anytime.
1. Who we are & acceptance
These Terms are an agreement between you and Voxcount B.V., Amsterdam, the Netherlands (“Voxcount”, “we”). By creating an account or using the app you accept these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the app. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and forms part of this agreement.
2. Eligibility & age
You must be at least 18 years old, a natural person, and legally able to enter this agreement. One person may hold only one account.
3. Your account
- Register with a valid email and the sign-in methods we offer. Keep your access secure; you’re responsible for activity on your account.
- Provide truthful, accurate, current information. Untrue or incomplete information may lead to suspension or closure.
- Don’t share, sell, transfer, or operate multiple accounts, and don’t use disposable/temporary email addresses.
4. How the app works
Each day we offer a short set of questions and optional swipe cards. Participation is voluntary and, for any question flagged sensitive, optional with no penalty for skipping. We may change the questions, format, features, or availability at any time.
5. Points & Rewards
- Earning. You earn points for taking part as described in the app. If you don’t follow the required steps, points may not be awarded.
- Not money / no cash value. Points have no cash or monetary value, are not your property, remain issued by Voxcount, and are redeemable only for the rewards we offer from time to time. They can’t be assigned, transferred, pledged, or exchanged for cash except where the law requires.
- Rewards = vouchers or charity donations — never a cash withdrawal.
- Minimum to redeem. Points can be redeemed once your balance reaches the applicable minimum; points below it are not redeemable.
- Verification & quality hold. Before your first redemption we verify your phone by one-time code. We may place a redemption in a short “pending” state (and always for brand-new accounts) while we run quality/fraud checks.
- Third-party issuers. Rewards are issued and fulfilled by third-party providers (e.g. Tremendous) and the issuing brand, under their terms shown at redemption. We are not the issuer.
- Changes to reward ratios. The rewards offered and the point levels required may change; for material adverse changes we give reasonable prior notice in the app.
- Expiry. Points stay valid while your account is active (log in at least once every 12 months). If your account becomes inactive we may expire points — but we’ll warn you first.
- Tax. You’re solely responsible for any taxes on rewards you receive.
- No purchase. Points are an earned loyalty currency — not an in-app purchase, financial instrument, or cryptocurrency.
6. How your answers are used
By answering, you allow us to use your responses to produce anonymised, aggregated insight that we license to organisations (brands, researchers, public bodies). We license results only in anonymised, aggregated form, across at least 50 respondents per result; your individual answers are never sold or shown to anyone, and we de-link your answers from your profile within 12 months. See the Privacy Policy for detail. You grant Voxcount a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use your (anonymised, aggregated) contributions for these purposes; this survives account closure for data already aggregated.
7. Acceptable use & anti-fraud
To keep the panel honest (which is the whole product), you must not:
- hold more than one account, share an account, or buy/sell accounts;
- use bots, scripts, automation, LLMs, or emulators to answer;
- answer dishonestly, at random, or to farm points; submit falsified or knowingly inaccurate answers;
- mask your location or identity (e.g. VPN to appear elsewhere), or use a payment/verification identity that isn’t yours;
- interfere with, probe, or try to game the app, rewards, or referral system.
We use automated and manual checks to detect this. If we reasonably believe you’ve breached this section, we may void affected answers, adjust or remove wrongly-earned points, withhold a redemption, suspend, or close your account — we’ll notify you and, where your balance was legitimately earned, allow you to redeem it. We won’t apply penalties disproportionately, and nothing here removes your statutory consumer rights.
8. Intellectual property
The app, its content, and Voxcount marks are owned by Voxcount. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app for your personal, non-commercial use. You keep your rights in what you submit, subject to the licence in section 6.
9. Suspension & termination
- You may close your account at any time in Profile → Settings. On closure we delete your personal data per the Privacy Policy; any legitimately-earned, above-threshold balance can be redeemed first.
- We may suspend or end your access for a breach of these Terms or for good cause, with notice appropriate to the circumstances.
- We may delete inactive accounts after a period of inactivity (we’ll warn you first).
10. Disclaimers & liability
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”; results shown are indicative. To the extent permitted by law, Voxcount is liable only for direct damage caused by intent or gross negligence, or by breach of a material obligation (then limited to foreseeable damage typical for this kind of free consumer service), and not for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited under mandatory law — including your non-excludable consumer rights.
11. Changes, governing law & disputes
We may update these Terms; for material changes we’ll give notice in-app, and continued use means you accept them. These Terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rights of the country where you live, and disputes are subject to the competent Dutch courts (again without prejudice to your right to sue in your country of residence where consumer law so provides). Voxcount conducts research in line with recognised market/opinion-research codes of conduct (e.g. ESOMAR/ICC).
